New Construction of a pre-treatment electrocoating plant at the Ford plant in Cologne-Niehl

The PTEC (Pre-Treatment Electro Coating) building at the Cologne-Niehl site is a key component of the transformation towards electromobility. The facility marks the beginning of the painting process and has been precisely integrated into the existing production environment – both technically and operationally. wpw übernahm die Generalplanung – von der vorangehenden Machbarkeitsstudie zur Standortbestimmung bis zur integralen Planung aller Fachdisziplinen.

New AMG technical center

A highly specialised test and development building was constructed to test the latest drive technologies – from combustion engines and hybrid systems to electric motors. The new building combines technical precision with a clear focus on sustainability and efficiency. The sustainability concept includes concrete core activation, green roofs, greywater use, a photovoltaic system, cold storage, a cistern and the use of regional building materials and local companies. The solid construction with a curtain-type sandwich facade ensures durability and energy efficiency.

New energy supply building at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf

wpw planned the complete modernisation of the central energy supply system at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, one of Germany’s leading large-scale research centres. As part of the modernisation of the former nuclear research institute, a new, future-oriented energy centre was developed to supply around 40 buildings with heating, cooling and electricity. wpw was responsible for the general planning of the energy generation systems – including heating, cooling and electricity generation – as well as the planning of external energy distribution networks and building transfer stations.
