History of the wpw Group
What began in 1947 as a structural engineering firm founded by Dipl.-Ing. Paul Pabst has evolved over the decades into a strong, interdisciplinary group.
Every stage of our history has been shaped by foresight and the courage to take on responsibility: from the expansion of our business areas in the 1970s and 1980s, to the establishment of new locations beginning in the 1990s, all the way to today’s diversified wpw Group.
Throughout it all, we have always remained true to our mission: to provide stability, offer guidance, and develop tailored solutions. As an owner-managed and independent company, we have always built our success on trust, community, and professional excellence.
Today, the wpw Group combines tradition with innovation. With our offices throughout Germany and Luxembourg, an interdisciplinary team, and a clear vision, we are looking ahead: We are shaping the future of the construction and real estate industries— with tradition as our foundation and our eyes on the future.
Founding of the Structural Engineering Firm of Dipl.-Ing. Paul Pabst

The name WPW is derived from the initials of the company’s founding partners at the time: Dipl.-Ing. Frithjof Wundrack, Chief Engineer Ing. grad. Guido Peter, and Dipl.-Ing. Ingo Wunderlich.
Founding of WPW IFEG GmbH (Institute for Earth and Foundation Engineering)
Founding of WPW IFU GmbH (Institute for Environmental Analysis)
