CaritasKlinikum Saarbrücken – Hybrid Operating Room, MRI, CT, and Emergency Department

Central areas of the Caritas Clinic in Saarbrücken have been extensively modernized and realigned for future requirements. The former baths department was completely dismantled and converted into a modern interdisciplinary emergency room (ZNA) – while the adjacent wards continued to operate.

At the same time, a new CT and MRI scanner were installed, for which existing rooms were expanded and structurally reinforced. In addition, the AV/SV supply lines for the radiology department and the operating room area were replaced, including the main supply line. In the operating room area, the conversion of an operating room storage room created a hybrid operating room equipped for highly specialized procedures.

All measures were implemented while the facility remained in operation—under tight deadlines and budget constraints, with a significant on-site presence and complex coordination among all trades. The result is a modernized hospital wing that combines medicine, technology, and patient care at the highest level.
