University of Bonn – New Rotation Building

The four-winged new building surrounds a central atrium and combines laboratory, office, seminar, and lecture hall spaces. The building was constructed using a combination of conventional construction methods and modular laboratory structures. This modular construction method enabled precise, weather-independent fabrication and shortened construction times. At the same time, the building is designed for flexible user cycles, ensuring that future modifications can be made with minimal effort.

WPW was responsible for commissioning management in accordance with VDI 6039, including the commissioning plan, cross-trade functional tests (fire scenario, black-building test, room functions), measurements, and documentation. In addition, WPW handles technical monitoring in accordance with VDI 6041 and AMEV, including the preparation of regular monitoring reports on the building’s technical systems and recommendations for optimization.
