Theodor-Fliedner Foundation – New Construction of a Daycare Centre and Assisted Living Facility

In Mannheim, demand for assisted living facilities for older people and childcare is growing. In response, the Theodor Fliedner Foundation is planning to construct a new assisted living facility with 33 residential units and a seven-group daycare centre on a plot of approximately 6,000 m² in the Neckarau/Niederfeld district.

The project comprises two structurally separate buildings with shared technical infrastructure, designed to integrate seamlessly into the surrounding area. The daycare centre will be designed to accommodate both nursery and preschool groups flexibly and will feature spacious outdoor and communal areas. The aim is to create intergenerational living and childcare facilities while sustainably strengthening local services.

wpw is responsible for all aspects of Building Services Engineering, including heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical engineering, lift systems, kitchen systems and building automation. In addition, wpw has developed a ventilation concept for the assisted living facility.
