Theodor-Fliedner Foundation –
New Childcare Center and
Assisted Living

In Mannheim, there is a growing need for assisted living facilities for seniors and child care. For this reason, the Theodor Fliedner Foundation is planning to build a new assisted-living facility with 33 residential units and a 7-group daycare center on a plot of land measuring approximately 6,000 m² in the Neckarau/Niederfeld neighborhood.

The plan calls for two structurally separate buildings with a shared technical infrastructure, seamlessly integrated into the surrounding area. The daycare center will be designed to flexibly accommodate both infant and preschool groups and will feature spacious outdoor and communal areas. The goal is to create intergenerational living spaces and childcare services and to sustainably strengthen local services.

wpw is responsible for all aspects of building services engineering, including heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical engineering, elevator design, kitchen systems, and building automation. In addition, a ventilation concept was developed for the assisted living facility.
