Future Mobility Development Center (FMDC) – Master Planning

As the general planner for the BMW Group’s Future Mobility Development Center in Sokolov, wpw was responsible for the planning and coordination of a major international project. Since the initial project contact in 2012, wpw, together with international partners, developed a state-of-the-art testing and development environment for future mobility.
The scale and complexity of the project placed high demands on planning, coordination and technical implementation. Interdisciplinary collaboration and the use of modern technologies enabled complex processes to be coordinated efficiently and implemented to a high standard of quality.
Particular attention was given to coordinating numerous international trades and managing organisational, linguistic and cultural challenges. With the commissioning of the FMDC in 2024, a new testing and development environment for vehicle development was established.
The centre combines state-of-the-art testing technologies with innovative planning solutions and demonstrates the value of international collaboration across disciplines and borders.
