Emile Mayrisch Hospital (CHEM) & François Baclesse Center (CFB) – New Construction of a Tertiary Care Hospital

In Luxembourg, the new CHEM and CFB facilities are being developed as a tertiary care hospital combining advanced medical care with patient-centred services. The complex is divided into several building sections: Building 100 accommodates the emergency department, radiology, endoscopy, nuclear medicine, central sterilisation, the operating room wing and a helicopter landing pad. Building 300 accommodates outpatient clinics, obstetrics, intensive care, inpatient wards, as well as kitchen and maintenance facilities. Building 500 houses radiation therapy, laboratory medicine, the training centre and administration, while Building 700 accommodates archives, palliative care, psychiatry and geriatrics.

The Luxembourg Ministry of Health commissioned the ARGE wpw and WITSCH+Partner consortium to provide consulting services for the assessment of the building’s technical systems. The aim was to ensure the functional, cost-effective and needs-based implementation of this large-scale project in accordance with current legal requirements and applicable national and European standards. wpw and WITSCH+Partner provided high-quality, process-oriented consulting throughout the project.
