Charging Infrastructure and Underground Utility Line Rehabilitation – BVG’s Indira-Ghandi-Straße Bus Depot

Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) is the main public transport operator in Berlin. As part of the electrification of its bus fleet, the central parking area of the bus depot is being gradually modernised. The construction of charging stations within a listed historic setting, the reorganisation of traffic facilities and the comprehensive renewal of the underground utility and supply infrastructure while the depot remains in operation are among the key challenges of the project. wpw has been commissioned as the general planner for the project since 2025.

The integration of all disciplines, combined with a large number of stakeholders, requires a tailored project organisation and an agile approach. These were developed and implemented in close collaboration with the client.
