BMW Leipzig Plant, Traffic Plan for Gate 2.0

The BMW Group has built a new, high-capacity logistics access road and a new employee entrance with a parking garage and ground-level parking spaces at its Leipzig site.

The project is related to the plant’s expansion to 60 E/h, the integration of e-mobility, and the resulting increase in logistics traffic and workforce size, including the construction of an additional access road to the plant. The new access arrangement to the plant resulted in an adjusted outer boundary of the plant site, which had to meet safety requirements. wpw was commissioned to handle the overall planning, including architectural design, structural engineering, building services (HVAC, plumbing, and electrical/IT), as well as the design of outdoor facilities, civil engineering structures, and traffic facilities.
