BMW Leipzig Plant, Traffic Plan for Gate 2.0

The BMW Group has built a new, high-capacity logistics access road and a new employee entrance with a multi-storey car park and ground-level parking spaces at its Leipzig site.

The project was undertaken in connection with the plant’s expansion to 60 E/h, the integration of e-mobility and the resulting increase in logistics traffic and workforce size, including the construction of an additional access road to the plant. The new access arrangement resulted in an adjusted outer boundary of the plant site, which had to meet specific safety requirements.
wpw was commissioned with the overall planning, including architectural design, structural engineering, building services (HVAC, plumbing and electrical/IT), as well as the design of outdoor facilities, civil engineering structures and traffic facilities.
